Mary-Jo Land is a Certified Child Psychotherapist and Play Therapist practicing in Southern Ontario in three locations: Ancaster, Cambridge and Toronto. Mary-Jo has an Honours Degree in Psychology (Neuro- and Behavioural Science), summa cum laude, and was the recipient of the Graham Award for highest academic standing for part time Social Science graduates. She is a Certified Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapist having studied with Dr. Dan Hughes since 2004. Mary-Jo has a private practice with emphasis on facilitating secondary attachment and resolving Complex Developmental Trauma in children.

Mary-Jo is the Vice President (Administration) of the Association for Treatment and Training in the Attachment of Children (www.attach.org). As well as being the Editor of the quarterly news letter CONNECTIONS; she serves on the Research and Education, Conference, Resource and Scholarship Committees.

Mary-Jo frequently presents at international conferences and provides in depth training seminars to professionals and parents / care providers.

Additionally, Mary-Jo is co-author of the Journey of Peace stories and curriculum. She travels to Afghanistan where The Journey of Peace is being implemented in schools around that country. (see www.journeyofpeace.ca ). Work in Afghanistan consists of training teachers in the effects of war on children, families and learning. Peace education involves the development of peace capacity through attitude change, skill development (reconciliation and conflict resolution) and the acceptance of diversity. Mary-Jo presents internationally in this field as well.
