I trained as a clinical psychologist in the mid 70’s in the UK when the predominant theory was behavioural so supplemented my learning with a psychotherapy training.  I specialised in working with young people and their families from early on and have worked mainly within the National Health Service within the UK.  During that time I have worked with a wide range of clinical situations and managed a child psychology department in York, England.

I have worked as an expert witness to the courts and been chair of a foster panel for some years and it has been these experiences in particular that made me want to work specifically with young people who have been adopted or are in care.  My training in DDP came at the right time!

When not at work I am a vicar’s (US equivalent pastor) wife in a large parish in York which doesn’t leave a lot of time to see my 3 grown up children who all live in London.
