Ellen Stickney, LISW-S, RPT-S is a licensed independent social worker who works with children, adolescents and their parents in a community mental health setting in Springfield, Ohio.  She has been working at Mental Health Services of Clark County since 1985 and has been the clinical supervisor of their Youth Outpatient Program for the past 19 years.  Ellen obtained her training as a clinical social worker from the University of Michigan where she earned her MSW in 1973.  She has worked in the field of mental health for over 30 years.

Ellen began her career with a focus on play therapy as an essential therapeutic intervention when working with young children.  She obtained her certification as a Registered Play Therapist-Supervisor in 1994 from the Association for Play Therapy.  Extensive training in attachment and trauma soon followed.  Current areas of specialization include the use of play therapy with children and families and the use of attachment-focused therapy with families.  Ellen also has presented numerous trainings on topics related to these areas of specialization and serves as a consultant on clinical issues to local agencies.
