Cas Schneider, Consultant Clinical Psychologist

 

Cas is a consultant clinical psychologist and UKCP registered family therapist whose primary practice base over many years has been in child and adolescent mental health. .She began her working life working in women’s trauma projects, completing her masters dissertation on domestic violence, working with rape crisis and in a women’s project in family therapy. Over the last 20 years she has been working in Plymouth and focussed on setting up post abuse and trauma services for children young people and their families. This came to be known as the Specialist Child Abuse Team. More recently and during her time training as a DDP therapist she worked in an attachment clinic providing DDP to adopted and fostered children and their families with a colleague. She currently works part time in the health service and part-time in private practice. She is inspired and excited by the developing DDP ideas and practices which feel like an exquisite integration of many previous notions that have interested her over the years from humanistic to systemic from dynamic to relational. She is looking forward to continuing to practice and learn.
